So what is Sacred Geometry?
Well basically Sacred Geometry ascribes symbolic and sacred meanings to certain geometric shapes and certain geometric proportions.
For example, the geometry used in the design and construction of religious structures such as (churches, temples, mosques, religious monuments, altars, and tabernacles),
Is considered sacred In its geometric expression.
This concept applies also to sacred spaces such as sacred groves, village greens and holy wells, and also the creation of religious art.
Many of the sacred geometry principles of the human body and of ancient architecture were compiled into the Vitruvian Man drawing by Leonardo da Vinci,
itself based on the much older writings of the Roman architect Vitruvius.
According to Stephen Skinner, the study of sacred geometry has its roots in the study of nature, and the mathematical principles at work therein.
Many forms observed in nature can be related to sacred geometry too.
Sea shells, Bee hives and many other natural structures often display clear geometric patterns.
These forms of geometry are considered to be sacred and provide proof of the natural significance of geometric forms.
And of course in more recent times we have discovered much more about Fractal and Recursive Geometries which also conform to scared geometric patterns.
Today on Soul 2 Soul we break out our slide rules and delve in to the world of Sacred Geometry.
We will also be hearing resonant patterns from Carmen, Joni, Linda, Steve, Liara & PS.
And we feature some highly inspired musical frequencies that we discovered at the recent Mind Body & Spirit Festival In Melbourne Australia...
