speak to their relationships to the land, to each other and to the wider cosmos.
They speak to the importance of respect and the understanding of Natural Law.
Many of these stories and traditions go back to times before recorded language!
This is also true of the native cultures of Australia, commonly referred to as Aboriginals.
Their stories & traditions are said to be some of the oldest known to have survived into this time.
Their Dreamtime creation stories speak to the wider spiritual life and are replete with examples of the wisdom that has been garnered over thousands of generations.
So why do we all not know these stories?
As history shows us, the western world were not interested in those stories, in that wisdom.
In their arrogant rush to claim land and resources from people they looked apron as savage and primitive, they missed some of their greatest gifts.
In recent years this has started to change, many from the west, including the team here at Soul 2 Soul, have been seeking out these stories and have begun to recognize the greater wisdom that these native traditions and stories contain. The stumbling block for some time has been trying to gain access to the information. Understandably many native elders are cautious about saying too much and giving away their sacred stories to (In their eyes), those who have for so long ignored and ridiculed them.
In the nearly 4 years of Soul 2 Soul being on air we have only managed to shine a small light on this wealth of knowledge. However things are starting to change. In recent months, with the help of some wonderfully resourceful Soul 2 Soul listeners, we have been making some further inroads into this ancient spiritual culture and forming relationships with some of their truly inspired representatives.
Having established the background to today's program, we are now please to share with you a very special conversation that we recently recorded with Trevor Wie.
Trevor is an artist-educator born in Darwin. He is also the principle guide for Kakadu Cultural & Heritage Tours, a commercial arm of a local Aboriginal Association of clan groups from north-eastern Kakadu and western Arnhem Land.
He is an inspiring speaker/presenter who covers concepts such as ethics, natural law, consciousness, cultural and individual diversity to promote a sense of well-being, good-will, greater awareness.
Trevor is also an Ambassador of Good Will!
As well as being inspired by Trevor, we also hear Inspired Information from Carmen & Julie.
We will also be uplifted by some truly inspired musical frequencies.
So come and join us as we delve into the realms of the Soul!
